Autograph letter signed from J. Noël Paton, Dunfermline, to C.L. Eastlake, London [manuscript], 1847 June 1.

Paton mentions sending two pictures for an approaching competition, one depicting Christ bearing the cross and another the reconciliation of Oberon and Titania. Paton quotes the relevant text from Act IV, scene 1 of A midsummer night's dream. Sent from Wooer's-Alley Cottage.
